Introducing sweet Rosy. She is a young puppy who enjoys playing and cuddling.
Rosy was an owner surrender. The family had adopted her at 6 weeks old from a neighbor who had a litter of puppies. They loved this girl, but both parents work full time jobs and their children were heading back to school. Rosy found herself spending multiple hours a day in her crate as the family focused on their other commitments. The family realized that they did not have the time needed to dedicate to a young Chihuahua and reached out to see if we could bring Rosy into our program. We love this sweet girl and cannot wait for you to meet her.
Rosy gets along well with other small dogs in her foster home. She loves to play with the younger dogs and will run and tumble with them. This sweet and hyper little bundle of joy is always up for a game, especially if it involves playing outside or playing with one of her many toys! She loves her stuffed toys so much that she will play with them until they are worn out and the stuffing is out!
Rosy is a little shy when she meets new people. Trust is something she takes seriously; it may take a bit of time to earn, but once she does, Rosy will follow you everywhere and shower you with love. She loves to be warm and cozy and will cuddle with you as you watch TV together. She also enjoys basking in the sun as you enjoy warm days together.
Rosy is incredibly smart. She is almost completely potty trained and has taught herself to use the doggy door (with supervision). We is working on perfecting her indoor manners and is almost completely there. Rosy is a lively chatterbox. She’s a little watch dog who will alert you if someone’s at the door and loves to give you a playful side eye. At night, she sleeps soundly in her crate (although she would probably love to sleep with her humans). She also enjoys daily walks on her harness and leash.
Rosy is about 9 months old. She weighs 8 pounds and is fully grown. Rosy has a beautiful tan coat with white highlights. She has the cutest face and ears that perk up when you talk to her. And her brown button nose is adorable.
Rosy’s ideal home will be one with a high-to-medium activity level. She would love to have another small dog (maybe 1 – 4 years old) to play with. Applications will not be considered where she will be the only dog. Rosy will need a family who can check on her every 4-6 hours (would not be a good fit for a family that works 10-12 hour days). She would be great in a home where there’s a great deal of activity and people were home a lot. There are no children in her foster home, but her original home had teenagers and Rosy loved them. We think she would do well in a home with older, mature children (12 and older). Rosy is going through a phase where she will try to chew on your hand to get attention. We re-direct her to toys when she does this. This is a normal puppy behavior and she will outgrow this. In the meantime, we think older children would be the best fit for her. Due to her currently habit of barking at strange noises, we don’t think she would be a good fit for an apartment. She would be a great family dog.
Overall, Rosy is a delightful companion with a loving heart and a playful spirit, making her a cherished part of any home.
