Meet one of our newest CRT fosters – Roger! Roger is a super sweet puppy. He has puppy energy, but also has a loveable, laid back side. He is definitely an adorable little man and is going to steal someone’s heart.
Roger and his siblings were an “unwanted litter” and were being given away a in a Walmart parking lot here in the Dallas area. One of our loyal CRT followers happened to be shopping and noticed the situation. Roger was the last puppy left, and our friend scooped him up, then called CRT and asked if we could bring him into our program. He is now safely in a CRT foster home.
Roger is a sweet, playful and curious boy. His personality is typical of a puppy. He has a high energy level and loves to play. Roger gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, especially the 1-year old. They are best friends and constant playmates. They love to run and tumble together. Roger loves all toys, especially his small stuffed Lambchop and also enjoys chewing on his favorite puppy chew toys.
Roger adores his family. After a day of playing, he is ready to settle in for some cuddle time. He enjoys getting belly rubs and giving you puppy kisses in return. Roger loves to be up against you, sharing your love. Roger sticks close to you and will follow you from room to room. Note that he can be a tripping hazard. He is also super fast, so his family will want to ensure there is a safe barrier at the front door so he does not dash out and begin to explore the neighborhood! Roger is full of life and love and will brighten your days and evenings. He’s never met a stranger and is an expert snuggler.
Roger is about 4 months old. He weighed 5 pounds at his last vet appointment and might grow another pound or so. Roger has a white coat with light tan highlights. He has perfect ears and beautiful brown eyes.
Roger is smart. He is learning to “sit’ for treats. Roger is working hard on his potty training and does well when taken outside frequently and after meals. Roger is crate trained and at night will sleep comfortably in his crate. Due to his vaccination status, we have not been walking him with a harness and leash yet. We think he will learn quickly as he enjoys going outdoors and he loves to learn new things.
The perfect home for Roger would be one with high activity. Roger would enjoy another small dog to grow up with. (Applications will not be considered where he would be the only dog). Roger also needs a family who can check on him every 4-6 hours (would not be a good fit for a family that works 10-12 hour days). He would be great in a home where there’s a great deal of activity and people were home a lot. There are no children in his foster home, but we think he will do well with older, mature children (10 and older)
