Meet beautiful Nugget! Nugget has amazing brindle coloring and beautiful brown eyes. This girl will capture your heart, we know you will love her.
Nugget was an owner surrender. Her human Dad recently passed away and the extended family could no longer care for her. The family reached out to us and we immediately agreed to bring her into our program. We are so happy that we did. She is the sweetest girl and will make a great family member.
Nugget is a sweet girl that’s not too demanding. Nugget settled into the pack in her foster home easily. She gets along with everyone, even the resident alpha dog! Nugget enjoys spending time with them. She enjoys playing and running with her foster siblings. She is also comfortable by herself, and would be great as an only dog. We have not noticed her playing with toys much.
Nugget is a little shy when she first meets you. But once she gets comfortable with you, she wants to be your BFF. Nugget loves being with her foster Mom and Dad and snuggling with them. She LOVES to snuggle and burrow under blankets. She loves to get belly rubs and loves to give you kisses. Nugget will be a great lap buddy. When you are ready to relax for the evening and watch some TV, Nugget will crawl up on your lap and enjoy those quiet moments together with you. Nugget follows her foster family from room to room because she doesn’t want to miss a moment with you. Note she moves quickly, and can be a tripping hazard if she gets too close to your feet. We are working with her on this, but her adopting family will want to be aware.
Nugget is about 1 1/2 years old. She weighs about 10 pounds which is a great weight for her. Nugget has the most beautiful brindle coat you will ever see. We love her floppy ears. When you call her name, she will give you “the head tilt” and it melts our hearts. She is learning to “sit” for treats and wants to please her family.
Nugget was not potty trained in her original home, so we are working on that. She is smart and is catching on quickly. Her new family will want to keep her on a consistent schedule and continue to reinforce this practice. Nugget is comfortable in her crate and will happily sleep there throughout the night. She would probably like to cuddle in bed with you too, if you would let her. We have just started working with her on a harness and leash and she is catching on quickly.
The perfect home for Nugget would be a moderate energy family. She would love to have another small dog buddy to play with. Nugget may also be a good only dog as long as her family is around to pay a lot of attention to her. She does not bark much, so would be a great office buddy. There are no children in her foster home, but she has done great in meeting the Grandchildren! We think she would do fine with children 10 and older.
Nugget is a very sweet and gentle dog that wants to be loved, and will love you back.
