Introducing Fidget. This sweet gal wants a laid back, loving home to call her own. We think you will be smitten with her!
Fidget was found as a stray in Dallas TX. Fidget showed up in early January on the doorstep of one of our CRT supporters. She did not have a collar or a microchip. The weather was so cold, and her little eyes were pleading for help. Our CRT volunteers brought her into their home and kept her warm and safe as we searched for her family. Sadly no family stepped forward to claim her. We were happy to put her into our program. Fidget is such a wonderful dog. We are on the hunt to find Fidget a great forever home, and know there are people out there who share our love for these sweet souls.
Fidget gets along with the other dogs in her foster home. There are small, medium and large dogs in her foster home and she fits nicely into the pack. Fidget loves to play. She will play with her buddies all day long, and really enjoys hanging around them. She also loves napping throughout the day. She has discovered balls and will pick them up and run with them. She also loves running throught the backyard. It is fun to watch her!
Fidget wants to be loved so much. We wish she could tell us her story, because she obviously has had some trauma in her first 2 years of life. Fidget is afraid of men when she first meets them. She is, however, starting to trust her foster Dad and is even starting to sit on his lap a little to get some love from him! Fidget is also afraid of loud noises and yelling. When she is startled, she will scamper to a “safe place”. It breaks our heart to know that humans have failed her in these early years. Our amazing foster family has stood in the gap for her, and Fidget is beginning to realize that a human family can be amazing. We are looking for an experienced family to adopt her – one that will be patient and will give her her time to build confidence.
After a few days of decompressing, Fidget decided that her foster Mom was amazing! They are best buddies now. Fidget loves snuggling and belly rubs. She will sit in your lap and let you pet her for hours! Fidget follows her foster Mom everywhere, and is super attentive in the kitchen as meals are being prepared as Fidget loves food – LOL. Note that Fidget can be a tripping hazard as she is constantly around your feet.
Fidget is super easy to love. She has a funny personality that will melt your heart. She has the cutest head tilt as she looks at you as if to say “tell me again how adorable I am” – LOL. She loves it when her family comes home. Even if you have only been gone for 10 minutes she will run to the door to greet you with a wagging tail – she is so excited you are back home! If you want to feel like the most loved person in the world – Fidget will make you feel adored every day. Once she gets comfortable with you, Fidget will come to you for attention. She LOVES belly rubs. And she will melt into your arms when you are holding her and snuggling with her.
Our vet believes Fidget is about 2 years old. She weighs a perfect 8 pounds. Fidget has a beautiful apricot tan medium length coat with white highlights. She is a Chihuahua mix and we believe she is a Chihuahua / Yorkie mix. We love her brown button nose and her cute ears. And her soulful eyes just melt us.
Fidget is potty trained and does well if kept on a routine. At night, she sleeps in her doggie bed. She also enjoys sleeping in bed with her family. Fidget is great on a harness and leash and enjoys daily walks. She loves trotting around the neighborhood, smelling new smells and exploring new areas. We are looking for a forever family that will continue to walk with Fidget each day as she will enjoy that activity.
Fidget has a mellow personality and is quiet (she rarely barks). We are requesting an all adult home with experienced adopters for her forever home. Because of her earlier living condition, Fidget was not totally socialized. So she is a little shy and takes some time to trust. She gets nervous in new situations and may even get startled. Fidget can be afraid of sudden loud noises. She will just need someone to understand that and help her to feel comfortable as she settles in to your home.
The ideal home for Fidget would be a home with moderate activity. Fidget would do well with another dog in her family or would also be a great only dog as long as her family was around to pay a lot of attention to her. Fidget will need time to adjust to her new home and we are looking for someone who is home most of the time. She would love to live with a retired family as she loves her people and wants to spend 24 hours a day with them! She is very loyal and loving. Fidget has lived through a lot and has the sweetest soul. It’s her time to be showered with affection. If you have a deep love for 4 legged family members, Fidget wants to be your girl!
